SOLIDARITY FUND OF THE CARMELITE MISSIONARIES. It is born out of the need to assume and promote a real commitment of solidarity with the poor and excluded, involving all the sisters, Carmelite Missionaries Secular and other lay friends, collaborators and beneficiaries of our apostolic tasks, generating attitudes, projects and initiatives that may create and strengthen a mentality of solidarity.

The proposal of solidarity fund is rich in vitality and vocational force for today’s committed Christians, because:

1. It motivates a dynamic of conversion to a lifestyle that is simple, sober and austere.
2. It promotes sharing personal and material goods.
3. It stimulates creativity, and the capacity for risk in the defence of human rights, justice and peace.

This project has created a congregational commitment of solidarity. Solidarity fund is the channel of the economic sharing of our religious family and of other people and organizations, in favour of the poor.

Preference is given to:

• Street, abandoned and ill-treated children; orphans, under/malnourished, sick children.
• Women who are marginalised, poor, or bear alone the responsibility of the family.
• Youngsters or adults without possibilities, abandoned elderly people.
• Displaced families or people, emigrants, refugees whose basic needs are not met.
• Ethnic minorities.
